Lords Cricket Ground

Lord's is regarded as the 'Home of Cricket' and the game's spiritual 'headquarters'.

Lords is owned by Marylebone Cricket Club, which is known throughout the cricketing world as the MCC. The MCC acts as the guardian of both the Laws and the Spirit of Cricket.

Lords is also the home of Middlesex County Cricket Club and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and is the setting for the MCC Indoor Cricket School, the MCC Library and the world-famous MCC Museum.

Lord's hosts England Test matches including the Ashes; England one day internationals; Middlesex's Twenty20, County Championship and Pro40 matches; as well as the showpiece finals for the domestic season such as the Friends Provident Trophy and Minor Counties Cup.

The MCC was founded in 1787 when the first ground in Dorset Fields was opened by Thomas Lord. In 1814 the Lord's Ground was moved to its current site.

In 2000 the 100th test match was held with England beating West Indies in three thrilling days.

Monday 10th September 2007 was a landmark occasion in the long history of Lord's with the first ever floodlit match featuring Middlesex Crusaders v Derbyshire Phantoms.
