Standing along Cheapside, one of the City of London's busiest thoroughfares, stands St. Mary-le-Bow, also known as Bow Church.
Aside from having been designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the church is significant for something else: it is said that anyone who was born within the sound of "Bow Bells," contained within the church's 217 ft. tower, is a "true" Londoner, or Cockney.
