Kensington & Chelsea

Kensington and Chelsea first originated as Saxon settlements and remained fairly rural until the 19th century. The area has strong associations with royalty and today, the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is one of the most select and luxurious residential areas of London, offering exclusive hotels and restaurants. Sloane Street and nearby Knightsbridge, with its famous Harrods and Harvey Nichols stores, offer upmarket shopping at its best.

Chelsea's King's Road was originally designed by Charles II as a thoroughfare for use by royalty only. Today, lined with trendy designer shops, the road still forms the heart of this historic residential area.
